| 2 | ICAR Foundation Day 2023 | On the occasion of 95th ICAR Foundation Day, Krishi Vigyan Kendra Gumla, Vikas Bharti Bishunpur has organized 03 days Agricultural Technology Day from 16th – 18th July 2023. During the event different programs were organized at different places. On 16th July 2023, 95th ICAR Foundation Day was celebrated at KVK headquarter at Ambedkar Hall Bishunpur on the theme “Mote Anaj (Shri Ann) ki Unnat Kheti” in which 93 farmers participated and got the training. On this occasion 300 no. of Papaya seedling 500 no. of Mango plants and 20. no. of tripal was provided to the farmers. On 17th July programme was organized on Natural farming at KVK training hall in which 60 no. of farmers participated and 50 spades was distributed among farmers. On 18th July 2023 Training-cum-Awareness programme was organized on Climate Resilient Agriculture in NICRA village Shivrajpur of Ghaghra block. In all the three days programme KVK scientists briefed the salient achievements of ICAR in enhancing the farmer’s income through technology generation and dissemination. Dr. Sanjay Kumar, Senior Scientist & Head emphasized on the importance of millets crop in present scenario of climate change. He urged the farmer’s to adopt climate resilient technology to minimize the risk of crop failure and for better income. He focused for adoption of IFS technology based approaches for sustainable income. Shri Mahendra Bhagat, Joint Secretary, Vikas Bharti Bishunpur advised for more involvement of primitive tribe farmer’s in technology demonstration and their exposure for better adoption of demonstration technology. Shri Atal Bihari Tiwari in his address highlighted the achievement of NICRA project in village Gunia and their cluster villages. He urged to farmers and different stakeholders to visit NICRA village and learn the experiences of improved farming. | 3 | Union Minister of Agriculture Inaugurates District level KisanMela of Krishi Vigyan Kendra Gumla, Vikas Bharti Bishunpur of ICAR-ATARI, Zone-IV, Patna | Shri Narendra Singh Tomar Honourable Union Minister of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare inaugurated the District Level KisanMela organised by Krishi Vigyan Kendra Gumla, Vikas Bharti Bishunpur on 3rd March 2023, The theme of the Mela was “Sustainable Agriculture and Income through Natural Farming, (Prakritik Kheti Ke Dwara Tikaw Krishi Ewam Aay)”. More than 8000 farmers from all 12 blocks of Gumla district and adjoining blocks of district Latehar and Lohardaga participated and exhibited their quality agri products in front of Honourable minister and other dignitaries. Honourable minister appreciated the work of KVK which is being done in tribal dominated districts Gumla. As I have seen the technology demonstrated in exhibition ground by KVK Gumla and other stakeholders including farm women, especially in Value addition and their marketing strategies. He appreciated the efforts of District administration for promotion of Millets cultivation strategically in the district. In his inaugural speech, he shows his utmost satisfaction about KVK Gumla running under the poise leadership of Vikas Bharti, headed by dedicated and visionary personality PadmasreeDr. Ashok Bhagat ji. He said I have found the excellent convergence approaches of KVK Gumla with all the stakeholders in organizing the mega event. He urged for working in convergence mode and plan proper production coupled with marketing strategies for speedy progress of agriculture in the state along with the remote tribal areas. The Minister stressed on the need for making the farmers more aware and knowledgeable on the newly developed technology along with proper skill for their better application.
